Legal Assistance for Young People:  JUSTICE, EMPOWERMENT, VOICE.

Founded in 1978, Justice for Children and Youth (JFCY) is a non-profit, legal clinic that provides legal assistance, advice and information to low-income children and youth in Toronto and vicinity through outreach and education, community development and policy/ law reform work.  We work to ensure that children and youth are recognized as individual and equal rights-holders, deserving of special protections under the law.

A specialty program of JFCY,
Street Youth Legal Services (SYLS) provides legal support to homeless and street-involved young people.  Since 1999, this invaluable program has helped over 4,500 street-involved youth to improve their lives.  Our community partners include 25 street-youth serving agencies and their clients who rely on SYLS for legal information and education, and without us would have no direct access to legal resources.
